FAQ
How do you keep mixers safe?
Every Host passes a short video interview, an ID check, and a background check, and a person reviews every application. Members are 18+ and ID-verified. Full safety guidance is included in training.
Is this a full-time job?
No. Hosts are independent contractors who choose which mixers they run and may pause at any time. There are no minimum hours.
How do pay and taxes work?
Hosts are paid per mixer through Stripe Connect. This is 1099 contractor income, so you are responsible for tracking and paying applicable taxes. We recommend consulting a tax professional.
Do I pay for the background check?
No. Citymates covers the background check cost for applicants who advance to that stage.
Can I stop being a Host?
Yes. You can pause or leave whenever you need to. We only ask that you run any mixers you have already committed to.
